Mr. Percy A. Brown-PhD, I am writing in regards to the Self Defense Class, which I attended on February 26, 2011.

I would like to extend to you my gratitude and appreciation for the training, which you shared with me. I am truly thankful for you because I learned a lot in those few hours. I enjoyed the experience in the Self Defense Class and learned from it. I will be able to defend myself with more confidence now. I learned to pay more attention to my surroundings, always be prepared and I learned quite a few defense moves, which I will be able to use, if needed.

Mr. Brown your professionalism and expertise is impeccable. You displayed great knowledge and a passion for the art and it shows. I look forward to attending your Self Defense Class in the future. I will also share this great experience with others. In today’s society preparation and consistency is the key to safety, which leads to our success.

Again, thank you for your patience and your time in training me during the Self Defense Class.

Respectfully,

Benetta E. Russell

Dear Dr. Brown,

I’ve always considered myself a strong professional woman who would have no use for a “self defense” class since I had never or would allow myself to be presented with or involved in a personal situation where I would need to defend myself against any physical and mental abuse. Not to long ago that changed when someone close to me of whom I thought would never resort to abuse became verbally then physically abusive to me. I survived that experience and learned that no matter how a person may feel towards someone, they are actually powerless when confronted in such a vicious manner by that same individual they trust. That experience taught me to never take anyone or anything for granted again. I preach this to my daughter’s everyday.

Shortly after my experience, a friend told me about your class and suggested I attend. After a lot of excuses, she convinced me to come to the next one. Grandmaster Brown El, I am so thankful that I did. Thanks to your hands on real life training scenarios and those of your assistants, I learned and gained invaluable knowledge and understanding of what real self defense is. I now know how to recognize “red flags”, what they may mean or can lead to and alternative ways in which to let others know that I am not the person to get in a confrontation with. I am sure the other ladies in the class did as well.

I highly recommend your self defense class to all women as you and your staff demonstrated a degree of professionalism, knowledge and patience rarely seen these days.

I Thank You for all you are doing to empower our community. You guys are truly a God sent.

Sincerely,

Patricia Campbell
